Man faces year in prison for going to the toilet
POPULAR VIDEO MODEL IS KILLED . . . THROWN OUT OF A HOTEL WINDOW
LaShawna Threatt, an aspiring model was celebrating her 30th birthday at the posh hotel when the incident occurred. She was killed as a result of the fall.
Ciara Williams, the other woman involved in the 'play fighting,' also fell, but rolled off a ledge and then fell the remaining 20 feet onto the patio below. She remains in critical condition at Grady Memorial Hospital, Atlanta Police Department spokesperson Carlos Campos told the press.
Witnesses reported seeing the women crash through the window at about 3:15 a.m.
About 20 friends had gathered together to celebrate Threatt's birthday, first meeting at an Atlantic Station restaurant. They then headed over to the hotel where Threatt had a rooftop party.
Atlanta Police Lt. Paul Guerrucci said “It appears there was no malicious act, no foul play, they were just wrestling with each other, they hit the window, the window broke, and they fell out.”
Threatt worked as a model doing party promotions for beverage companies.Williams is a background urban dancer, who also owns her own marketing company, Passionate Chonvill told AJC.
Singer Sean Kingston Involved In Jetski Crash
Kingston, 21, was driving the personal watercraft with a female passenger on board when the accident occurred, said Officer Jorge Pino, a spokesman for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
About 6 p.m., the hip-hop and reggae singer slammed into the Palm Island Bridge, which connects the MacArthur Causeway to Palm and Hibiscus islands. Both he and the passenger were thrown into the water, Pino said.
A passing boater saw the accident and took the two on board his vessel.
Miami-Beach Fire Rescue took Kingston to the hospital. His condition was not immediately known.

Lil Boosie Caught Attempting To Smuggle Codeine Syrup Ingredients Into Jail
Already potentially facing the death penalty as the result of a first-degree murder charge from the shooting death of Terry Boyd amid other pending drug charges, the 28-year old Boosie has entered a plea of not-guilty regarding the murder case. He is also facing possession and distribution charges for marijuana, Ecstasy and codeine. Prosecutors have maintained that the case they’ve built is rife with proof that Hatch hired a hit-man to murder the 35-year old Boyd. Boosie is also suspected in five other murders, police officials say.
Titus Franklin and Arthur Stewart, both 27, were also hit with the same conspiracy and smuggling charges; all three men hail from Baton Rouge. The case broke when Stewart and Franklin allegedly made arrangements to deal with a men they thought to be a drug delivery connection but was actually an undercover agent. The pair arranged a plan for the agent to deliver the goods straight to Hatch, but it was actually the sting for police. Boosie also incurred an additional charge of inciting a felony.
It has been quite a bumpy year for Boosie and his Trill Entertainment record label compatriots. Rapper Webbie was arrested this past April in Tennessee on drug and evidence tampering charges, this following a late March brawl in East Saint Louis that took place after a concert and left one security guard shot.
DMX To Be Released From Prison By The End Of This Summer
Dark Man X has been locked up since last December when he arrested for felony probation violation, after testing positive for cocaine five times between July and November 2010.
At the time of his sentencing Judge Christine Mulleneaux told the rapper she thought mental illness was the cause of his numerous runs ins with the law.
"Your criminal history goes back to 1988. It’s going to continue until you take care of your mental health,” Judge Mulleneaux told the rapper at the time.
Under the terms of his release, X will be under supervised watch until August 12, 2011.
This latest trip to the pen is the 13th for the Yonkers, New York emcee. His maximum prison sentence ends on August 25th according to court records.

'X-Factor' Judge REPLACED by Pussycat Doll
Huge shakeup at Simon Cowell's new show "X-Factor" -- TMZ has learned singer Cheryl Cole will no longer be a judge ... and will be replaced by ex-"Pussycat Dolls" member Nicole Scherzinger.
It's unclear why Cheryl is out -- but we're told the replacement happened very recently.
Nicole was originally supposed to co-host the show with Steve Jones when it debuts in September -- but now, she'll be sitting on the judge's panel alongside Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and LA Reid.
Calls to Cowell's camp have not been returned.

Utah Mom Arrested For Trying To Sell Her 13 Year Old Daughter's Virginity For $10,000
32-year old Felicia Rea McClure has been charged with two counts of first degree felony aggravated sex abuse of a child and two counts of second degree felony sexual exploitation of a minor.
She and a man police identified only as "Don" had agreed to the deal, after McClure asked her daughter if she would be willing to lose her virginity to him according to ABC News.
The two took the girl to a Victoria's Secret store and had her model in thongs and bras for the man. Authorities say the girl initially agreed to do it, but later changed her mind, saying she wasn't ready for sex.
Salt Lake City District Attorney Sim Gill said the mother also took pictures of her daughter and sold them to another man named "Will."
"The photographs that were shown her buttocks was bare, so it's fairly graphic," said Gill.
Police were notified by McClure's boyfriend after he found texts on her cell phone detailing the plot.
The mom now faces 15 years to life in prison for each of the two first degree felony charges if convicted.

This isn’t your father’s NASCAR. It’s definitely not Tia Norfleet’s father’s NASCAR, and her father actually drove NASCAR circuits.
Norfleet is 23, female and African American. Some time this season, she hopes to become the first to start a NASCAR race, and she knows exactly what that will mean. She’s working toward this not just because she’s loved to drive fast ever since she was 5 years old, but because she wants to open the door to the sport that huge segments of Americans are convinced is not for them, never was and never will be.

“That’s one of the things I want to change,” Norfleet said recently from Augusta, Ga., where she continues to practice and prepare for her still-undetermined qualifying attempt. “We want to bring a different light to NASCAR. You ask the average person, black, what NASCAR is, and they say, ‘You drive around in a circle, and that’s it — so what?’
“Well,” she continued, “they don’t see anyone there they recognize, or that they can identify with.”
When Norfleet says “we” want to change that, she mainly means her father, Bobby, who drove in the 1990s, and was a teammate and friend of then-Winston Cup champion Alan Kulwicki. Bobby Norfleet was mentored by racing pioneer Wendell Scott. Norfleet brought sponsors into the sport like FUBU, Sean John, So So Def Records and boxing champion Roy Jones Jr.
Norfleet doesn’t pretend that in his day it wasn’t daunting to be the lone black driver in a sport that not only was all white, but also rooted in the Deep South and was accompanied by all the expected baggage, such as the omnipresent symbol that even NASCAR people are leery of still seeing: Confederate flags in the stands. He also knew first-hand of the cruel treatment Scott received when he was breaking the color barrier in the 1960s.
For him, though, “I wasn’t really conscious of it. Everybody else was, (but) I tried to keep it as low-key as possible. I did what I’ve been telling Tia — you want them to recognize you for your driving.” Not as “the black driver” because Norfleet said, “others put that label on me.”
Tia Norfleet, one of four children, grew up in Suffolk, Va. — the Hampton Roads area, a certifiable NASCAR hotbed — loving her father’s life of speed, and he loved indulging her. At 5, she had a little drive-it-yourself Barbie car, like most little girls. But Bobby put two real car batteries in it, and, she said, “I wore the tires off of it.” As she got older (relatively speaking — she was 9), Bobby let her drive the actual family car on the streets.
“Her mom would want to kill me,” Bobby said, “but I’d prop her up on the driver’s seat and let her get out on the highway.”
Certainly every driver in every circuit in the world probably has a story like that. And one like this: Tia decided to get serious about the sport at 14, raced go-karts, then drag-raced, then started winning on short tracks, leading up to her attempts to get on the circuit today.
The best part about their story? NASCAR and the racing hierarchy couldn’t be happier, and by all indications, it’s not an act. The elder Norfleet even attests to that. “It’s not the 1950s and 1960s NASCAR anymore. In the last five to seven years, they’ve made a lot of strides for inclusion. It’s a work in progress.”
NASCAR has a “Drive for Diversity” program that actively recruits and encourages minority and female drivers and promotes them to fans. African American drivers are emerging through the ranks — veteran Bill Lester won a Grand Am series race last week in Virginia, and Michael Cherry, just 22, is on the developmental K&N circuit and has been part of Drive for Diversity since 2008.
A huge boost has come from media and entertainment mogul Max Siegel, who started a team, Revolution Racing. He was the executive producer of the Wendell Scott docudrama that aired on ESPN the night of the Daytona 500, and pulled off the seemingly-impossible feat of getting NASCAR onto BET, with last year’s “Changing Lanes” reality series.
In addition, the famed South Boston Speedway in southwestern Virginia (where, among other luminaries, Scott regularly raced) recently invited Norfleet to run there the first chance she got. The track’s general manager is Cathy Rice, who has been involved in the sport since 1972.
“I can remember when females were not allowed in the pit garage,” Rice said in an email, “and now you are seeing more and more of the sport being family-surrounded, which is a wonderful thing. I speak very highly of NASCAR and I would love to see Tia make a name in NASCAR one day.”
Yet, the job is far from done. In the middle of that whole culture shift came a $225 million federal sexual and racial discrimination and harassment lawsuit, filed in 2008 by former NASCAR official Mauricia Grant. It was settled late that year for an undisclosed amount, but not before she named names and alleged a long list of insults, slurs and abusive behavior during her two years working for NASCAR.
If Tia Norfleet has ever encountered that side of the culture, she doesn’t admit to it. She’s seen more of the other side. “I’ve had women and little girls email me and post messages on my Facebook page, telling me how I’ve inspired them and motivated them and that they want to do what I’m doing,” she said. “I said, ‘Really, small little me, and I’ve inspired someone to do something?'
“I try to tell them you can do it, no matter where you grew up, no matter how you grew up.”
As for her own demographic, young and African-American, the one that didn’t know why anyone would watch people driving in a circle?
“Now they say, ‘I wanna see that race; hey, can I get involved in that?’” she said.

Katy Perry -- Russell Brand Got Deported from Japan!
Katy Perry and Russell Brand thought they were going to enjoy a nice trip to Japan this weekend -- the only problem is ... Japan kicked Russell out of the country!
Katy is in the middle of the Asian leg of her tour and Russell came along for the ride -- only things didn't go as planned. She went on to explain the problem was over "priors from over 10 years ago!"
Russell seemed to be in good spirits over the whole ordeal, tweeting at one point, "Planning escape from Japanese custody. It's bloody hard to dig a tunnel with a chopstick."

Dr. Phil McGraw found himself in the middle of a serious medical emergency this week -- when a guy hanging out at his Bev Hills mansion collapsed on the tennis court and Phil dashed to his aid.
It all went down Thursday morning -- when Phil's wife was playing tennis with a family friend. We're told the man suddenly became disoriented -- collapsed -- and started to go "in and out of consciousness."
We're told Phil's wife Robin screamed for the doc to call 911 -- which he did -- and while on the phone with the dispatcher, Phil raced over to the court to tend to his friend.

Vinnie Vincent -- the guitarist who famously took Ace Frehley's place in the band KISS -- was arrested today on charges of aggravated assault ... TMZ has learned.
Vincent (real name Vinnie Cusano) was busted by the Rutherford County Sheriff's Department in Tennessee and held on $10,000 bond. He posted and was released at 11:27 AM.
Vincent was known as the Ankh Warrior during his time with the band.

Mike Epps cares so much about L.A.'s sprawling garbage problem ... the comedian actually took part in a student film to help end the epidemic -- by doing a little littering of his own.A couple HS students were filming in a parking lot outside some L.A. mall earlier this week -- and just their luck ... they ran into Mike Epps.
The two students struck while the iron was hot, asking Mike for his opinion on littering in L.A. -- and the actor responded by tossing a crumpled up piece of paper on the ground ... and saying, "Sometimes you don't want sh*t in your car."
Obviously, the guy was joking -- and he picked up his trash -- but Epps still insists, "The world is a ghetto."

Mother Convicted Of Attempting To Smother Her Infant Inside Hospital

FORT WORTH —Shantaniqua Nykole Scott, 18, of Waco, was convicted Thursday in Fort Worth of injury to a child for trying to smother her infant by putting a blanket and then her hand over his face.
A jury in Fort Worth deliberated for about 30 minutes Thursday before finding Scott guilty.
She faces a possible sentence ranging from probation to life in prison.
Defense attorney David Jones argued Thursday that Scott did not cause any serious injuries to her baby.
Jurors Wednesday watched videotape that showed the 18-year-old mother trying to smother her child while the boy was being treated at a North Texas children's hospital for a condition that caused him to stop breathing.
The video was recorded at Cook Children's Medical Center where the infant was placed in a video-monitored room after a doctor became suspicious.
Dr. Samy Hadeed, a pediatric pulmonologist, testified he was shocked at what he saw when he reviewed the surveillance video.
The videotape shows Scott first placing a blanket over the baby's face for more than 20 seconds and later, after a nurse entered the room and interrupted her, placing her bare hand over the infant’s face in an effort to smother him.
Scott held her hand over the baby's face for more than a minute, until alarms attached to the child began to sound and doctors and nurses rushed into the room to resuscitate
Hadeed testified the baby would have died had they not been there to help.
A detective testified Wednesday that after Scott's initial denial, she confessed and said it was hard being a teenage mother with no job or support from the baby's father.
The infant is now in foster care.

The once former great boxer was knocked out in the 10th round of a non title fight.
Jones was leaning against the ropes when Lebedev caught him with an overhand right, followed by two right uppercuts. At that point Jones was out on his feet, leaning forward, but the referee didn't step in as he should have and Lebedev then hit him with another hard punch that sent the former world champion crashing face first to the canvas.
After several tense minutes with Jones lying motionless on the ground he was able to make it to his feet.
Jones was gracious in defeat, giving the Russian credit for landing a great punch.
"It was a great shot, I can't take nothing away from him, he was a tough competitor," Jones said.
Most expect Jones to retire, but he said he wasn't sure if he would.
"I really don't know what I'm going to do now," he said. "I'm going to think about it."
At this point in his career there really is nothing left for the 43-year old Jones to fight for. He doesn't have the skills he used to and should get out of the game while he still has his health.
Jones career record now stands at 54-8.
